Shaklee Cares is a publicly supported, nonprofit organization committed to helping people directly affected by natural disasters and emergencies. Founded in 1992 in the wake of Hurricane Andrew, Shaklee Cares contributions include nutritional supplements, nutritious meal replacements and snack bars, cleaning supplies, cash donations and volunteer work.  By using grassroots citizen groups working in impacted areas, Shaklee Cares has provided thousands of volunteer hours and millions of dollars in cash and product donations to help communities rebuild.​​

Corporate social responsibility is not just a slogan with Shaklee.  They walk the talk.  They go way above and beyond what is required by regulators and environmental protection groups. Their corporate social responsibility policy is at the core of their daily operations and guides all aspects of the company.  Their network of employees and field representatives worldwide actively engage in all of its sustainability initiatives.

Shaklee also partners with several health organizations, major research and medical schools, community outreach organizations, educational and philanthropic organizations.

Professor Wangari Maathai​

In 2004 she was the first African woman and first environmentalist to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

In 2006, Shaklee launched A Million Trees, A Million Dreams TM campaign to plant one million trees in North America in commemoration of Shaklee's 50th anniversary.  

Professor Wangari Maathai was inspired by this campaign and partnered with Shaklee Corporation. She shared Shaklee's Million Trees idea with the United Nations Environment Program and they were inspired to plant a BILLION trees.  This created a network of people inspiring people to improve the planet.  By 2012 over 13 BILLION trees worldwide had been planted.
